By Beverly Cohen, Communications Specialist

You've heard it before: preparation is an essential key to successful presentations. Easy to say. Not always easy to do. How many times have you been faced with that stuck-in-neutral feeling? You just can't seem to get motivated to start preparing your part of that all important event. The basic things like time and place have been arranged. The event has peen publicized. Everything is ready except you! Procastination has set in. AMPS can help you recharge, get into high gear, and end your procrastination.

Acknowledge the fact that you are procrastinating. Give yourself permission to be a bit lazy.

Mentally focus on the success of your presentation. Visualize the room filled with an attentive audience and you flawlessly and enthusiastically doing your thing. Imagine every detail of a successful presentation.

Plan your strategy. Prioritize the things you need to do to make your mental picture a reality. Write it down. Make a plan of action. Group the most complex, time consuming things together.

Start to do it! Take action. Get started with your visualization and see your procrastination transformed into power.
