Home Presenter Center PowerPoint Tips Reduce clutter: Span bullet points across multiple pages

You may consider creating a separate page for each bullet point with related graphics. Though it can add many pages and take longer to develop, the fast-moving graphical pages work to maintain a strong level of interest with the audience. And don't get worried that you're adding so many pages to your presentation...it's virtual! With this method, it's not uncommon for a 30-minute presentation to have more than 90 slides.

1) This slide from Office Depot works well in print…but it’s not very graphical and it’s hard to read from the back of a large room. So we split it onto three pages… 2) Starting with the first bullet point on its own page with a new custom template. Now, with the bullet on its own page, we can have a graphic that supports it…and one graphic for each bullet…on each page…. 3) Like here on page two. Larger text, and a full supporting graphic 4) And bullet 3, which had 3 sub-bullets now has 3 supporting graphics.

1) Here’s another example of a client presentation that a clump of bullet points. And with the speaker talking for nearly 1 minute on each point, it bored the audience. 2) So we split it onto three pages, starting with this page. The text flies, and a subtle background image helps to support the key message. 3) Bullet point number two is actually it’s own page now 4) And the same with bullet point number 3.
