The
stakes were high: technology giant NextiraOne had
to prove why they were worthy of a $35 Million contract
renewal for support services in the Miami regions
three airports. So executives at the Houston-based
company enlisted The Presentation Team to spice
up their standard PowerPoint pitch so they could
beat out two other competitors.
With
a deadline looming just two weeks away, we began
our presentation makeover by analyzing NextiraOnes
existing presentations and asking critical questions:
"Why are you saying this?" "What
value does this add?" "Is this graphic
relevant to your overall message?" "How
can you trump the competition?"
Our
first task- even before creating the graphics- was
to weave a focused outline that addressed the critical
point-rated evaluation categories while creatively
showcasing NextiraOnes competitive advantages.
In
the original 30-minute presentation, NextiraOne
was introduced over 10 minutes through a series
of drab bullets and historical overviews. We chose
to replace this ordinary intro with a multimedia
experience- a a 90-second intro video- kicked off
by a brief scripted welcome statement. The video,
developed in Adobe AfterEffects succinctly covered
all the points in the original 10 minute intro,
yet proved more entertaining and informative. Professional
narration over upbeat music showcased 30 moving
photos of NextiraOnes team members in action,
providing a focus on people... not technology.
For
the main presentation, we selected a template from
Crystal Graphics Backgrounds collection based on
its modern and clean look and compatibility with
existing graphics and NextiraOnes brand.
Many
pages that previously featured bullets were either
supplemented with relevant graphics or the bullets
were transformed into freestanding graphics. Pages
were gracefully transitioned using the dissolve
effect, and bullets were animated with with either
a wipe down effect or a zoom-by-letter effect. When
featuring testimonials, we again enlisted the power
of multimedia, as we interviewed three NextiraOne
customers on video. The videotaped testimonials
helped bring the presentation to life. The end result:
a happy client, and a renewed contract!
